beatmania 4th MIX ~The beat goes on~ (c) 1999 Konami.

A renewal version of beatmania series. New songs are contained, but old songs are removed. Contains ONLY new songs, so some players didn't like that. Some of old songs are contained in beatmania complete MIX 2, released in 2000, with Another level patterns and original patterns.
More harder levels of patterns are included. the maximum level is ★7(GENOM SCREAMS, DRUNK MONKY and so on).

Controlled with 5-keys and a turntable.

This game runs on Konami Bemani DJ MAIN Hardware.

This game is known in Korea as "beatstage 4th MIX."

- Trivia -
- An another pattern of DRUNK MONKY is the most difficult pattern of ALL 4th MIX patterns. In this game, there were NO HI-SPEED option, so players could see LOTS of notes at the screen. Each note equals each sounds, so players couldn't hear music when they are not pressing buttons.
- There is ALL SONG COMMAND in this game. After insert coin(s), press 2P side buttons like 6-10-9-8-9-8-9-6-7-6-6-10-9-8-9-8-9-6-7-6-6(DEEP IN YOU sequence). Press START button, and right after that, press and hold 1P side 2, 4 button and EFFECTOR button quickly. Press and hold those buttons simultaneously until you see select game mode screen. If you could select DEEP IN YOU, DRUNK MONKY, LOGICAL DASH, GENOM SCREAMS and some other higher levels of music at music select screen, the command is completely input. In this video, this command was not input.
- When you select music, press and hold 2, 3, 4 buttons(6, 7, 8 buttons in 2P side) to play another level. After seeing result screen, press and hold two of them. Then select music with turntable. After you find the music contains another pattern, press the rest button. If you hold 3, 4 button, for example, select music with 2 button.
- You Make Me is come from beatmania IIDX, song by Monday Michiru.
- Hunting for you and GENOM SCREAMS are come from PS version of beatmania, beatmania GOTTA MIX. The AC version of those songs are shorter than PS version. Players didn't like that at that time.
- PARANOiA MAX ~Dirty MIX~ is come from DDR 2nd MIX. The beatmania version is shorter than original version. In DDR 2nd MIX, PARANOiA MAX was one of the hardest steps at that time.
In beatmania 4th MIX, however, it was one of normal levels. Not very difficult, and not very easy.

Playstation Beatmania Controller Unboxing/Gameplay

Beatmania (ビートマニア) (styled as beatmania) is a rhythm video game developed and distributed by Japanese game developer Konami and first released in December 1997. It contributed largely to the boom of music games in 1998, and the series expanded not only with arcade sequels, but also moved to home consoles and other portable devices, achieving a million unit sales.[1] The Bemani line of music games from Konami is named after the series, was first adopted in the arcade release of Beatmania 3rdMix and kept ever since. The series came to an end with the last game being Beatmania The Final, released in 2002.

Beatmania gave birth to several spinoffs, such as the Beatmania IIDX series (a more advanced version featuring 7 keys and higher difficulty levels, and to this day still receiving new version updates) and the other being Beatmania III, a remake of the 5-key series which featured a more modern hardware platform, a pedal for optional effects and a 3.5" floppy disk drive to save play records.

While the series was never ported to home computers, there have been unlicensed hard-drive copies which made it playable on a computer's keyboard, or even with a modded PlayStation controller. Its popularity led to non-official simulators, with one of the most popular being BM98.

Beatmania and its variants have a following in Japan and all around the world. The password-based Internet Ranking service allowed competition wherever a machine is available. Today in the United States, many of the original Beatmania cabinets are in the hands of arcade collectors and Bemani enthusiasts, and consequently, are a rare sight at many arcades.
Sandro Francis Miranda : Compared to nowadays Beatmania IIDX official controllers, the Beatmania controllers looked very weird compared to their arcade counterparts.
Riune Haru Gaming : want to play it too in ps1, played a version of it in gameboy
Zach lad : Why does this video looks so old?
TMracer73 : Thanks
KendoFox from Youtube : nice ps1 beatmania games are fun apparently I am just not good at playing them you must try the ps1 version its fun
